Confidence is not what you think it is

Want more confidence?

Confidence is not what you think it is.

Most people I’ve interviewed say confidence is about “having something” or “exuding” something such as self-assuredness or certainty. And if they want more confidence, they just need to get more, exude more, or “act” a certain way.

But in “acting” more confident, they come across inauthentic and phony. And even if they are good at acting, internally, there is still the feeling that it’s not real. It’s forced. And it takes too much energy to make it a part of your life.

But true confidence is not about “acting”, it’s about “being”.

So how do you “be” more confident?

Again, it’s not about “getting” something you don’t have. I will argue that true confidence comes from “getting rid of” something.

What are you “getting rid of”?

FEAR.

True confidence is not about getting, exuding, acting, or doing anything. True confidence comes from lack of fear and lack of worry.
